Hey Gramps. I wanted to let you know I miss you very much. You and Grams were my life, so I hope you two are up there watching over me. I am doing really good in school. Stressing because I signed up for too many at once and working full time. But I have your drive, so I know I can do it. I miss you and love you dearly.

Love your Granddaughter,
Elizabeth

On behalf of the Stocksdale's....It was wonderful seeing all of Floyd and Phyllis's family and friends at the ceremonies for Floyd Richardson. What a wonderful group of folks you all are. We could not be prouder to be a part of such a beautiful group of people. A special thank you to the Jay and Luella Messer family for your tremendous love and hospitality that you extended to everyone. Floyd is smiling down with pride.

Uncle Floyd looked more like my mother(Mina Belle) than any other member of her family. When I saw your pictures, I started to cry when I looked at his hands because they, too, looked like my mom's hands. I feel so blessed to be born into the Richardson family because we had such an amazing Grandmother(Minta).) My mother once said that Grandma was happiest when she was sending someone to school. Her legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren, since many of them are passionate about education, politics, and helping the under privileged. Mom told us some funny stories from their childhood (at night, she had to run through the gauntlet of her big brothers on her way to get a dipper of water,) and even as an adult she always knew that Floyd was there for her whenever she needed him. Your father was strong and brave and good and wise. His spirit will be with you forever.. My thoughts are with you...

Dear grandpa kickingbird, I think of you more than you probably ever realized. I grew up fascinated by "bopbops" stories about teaching in a one room school house and traveling the world during the war. One of my most fond memories is working together with you to make my family tree in grade school. I am sad that I lived most of my adult life so far away and didn't get to see you more, but I always looked forward to catching up on the phone, discussing politics and hearing about your experiences and adventures abroad. I am so grateful that your great grandson oscar got to meet you last year. I have beautiful pictures of you two, which I will make sure he looks at as he grows up. I miss you and love you. Rest in peace grandpa. Love always, your granddaughter, Christine

So many "heated" arguments between Floyd and my dad, Roy Burns. Dad so enjoyed Floyd's visits on the front porch. So happy he is at peace now. Steve and I will both miss him. Your neighbors, Carlena Burns Riley and Steve Riley.

My fondest memory of Floyd is when he invited my family to his house to send Christmas with his family after my father passed away. He and Phyllis welcomed us in his home with kindness and laughter. I have wonderful memories when the Richardson and McColl spent time together. God bless Floyd!

Grandpa I wish I could have 1 more day with you. I'm glad you're no longer suffering. You and I had some great laughs and lasting memories. I love you to the moon and back. Don't worry I will take care of grandma. I'll see you and that "creepy creepy" smile one day again.

There are no words for comfort when you loose someone you love. Floyd was quite a man. He grew up very poor, but his drive to be somebody made him a teacher, principal, and educator to many. He touched many young people's lives. I only knew him as my Uncle. He always showed me kindness. I will miss him. Love Karen (Teresa)
