My heart goes out to the Dixon family in their loss. I remember them from my childhood. I remember visits from them when my brother and I would teach him and his sister Sheryl how to shoot a bow. John Paul actually got me into comic books as a kid and I'm able to share that with my step-daughter, who is an avid collector now. I am honored to have known him and his family. I am also a fellow Marine, so I'm also proud to call him my brother. If Debbie, Sheryl, or Greg sees this, please do not hesitate to contact me. My number is 304-476-8760.
Rest easy, John. We will link up again in another day and time.

i had the pleasure of working with John at Big Ass Solutions. He always spoke to everyone and would engage in conversation. And flash his smile! He was someone you couldn't help but really like to be around. There is such a void with him gone. Everyone at work feels it. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. You are remembered in my prayers. Please remember that John was a tremendous asset to everyone that knew him. We all feel very special to have had the opportunity to have John in our lives. God bless.

John Paul - a good man.
I hope this poem eases the pain in your heart a little. He was a ray of sunshine in our lives.
"Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call, I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found that peace at the end of the day.
If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah, yes, these things too I will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life's been full, I savoured much, Good friends, good times, a loved one' touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.

To John's Family: I pray that you will be strengthened during this season of sadness. I met John last year at work and we enjoyed the sport of soccer. We joked about being the old guys on the soccer team. I had the privilege of meeting some of you at one of the games. As a father, my heart especially goes out to the son or daughter left behind. I pray that their father's legacy will be passed down. I am blessed to have met John and he will be missed.
