Vernon Rose

1948 - 2020

Vernon Rose, 72, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 5, 2020. He was the son of the late Ernest and Grace Lyon Rose.  Vernon was saved on March 15th, 1980.

Vernon married Sharon on August 4, 1967 and he was the daddy of Steve (Renee) Rose and Stefanie (Mark) Adkins.  He was the papaw to Ethan Adkins, Xavier Rose, and Xairyn Rose, who he loved with all his heart. 

Vernon is also survived by two brothers, Jerry (Stephanie) Rose and Roy (Deloris) Rose; and two sisters, Ledda (Colin) Cox and Bonnie Rose.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmon, Leonard and Paul Rose; one sister, Mary Ann LeMaster; and his father and mother-in-law, Stirl and Gladys Bear.

Vernon was a member of the Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church for 40 years. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, and loved to grow huge gardens. Vernon will be loved and sadly missed by family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 3:00PM at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. Jesse McDavid & Bro. Delmaine Griffith officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bear Cemetery, Elliott County.

Friends may visit from 5:00PM – 9:00PM on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY.

Serving as Pallbearers: Darrin Fannin, Mike Jesse, Chris Rose, Kevin Bear, Anthony Bear, and Doug Musgrave.

Honorary Pallbearers: Keith Ison, J.D. Lewis, Gary Porter, and Marion Lewis.
