Terry Roger Mays

1951-2026

Terry Roger Mays, 74, of Olive Hill, KY entered into rest Monday afternoon, January 5, 2026, at UK-St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, KY.  He was born on January 17, 1951 in Centralia, IL, a son to the late Mary Elizabeth Simer and Jesse Ellis Mays.

Terry was of the Baptist faith and loved carpentry, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and meeting new people. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Trevor Mays.

Terry is survived by his companion of 23 years, Patti Boyd; two daughters, Malisa Reed of Centralia, Il and Kellye (Christopher) Herndon; four sons, Travis Mays of Louisville, KY, Tracey Mays of Mt. Vernon, IL, Jeff Boyd, and Brian Boyd; eight grandchildren, Brittany, Devon, Lucas, Sarah, Mikaylie, Matthew, Margarita, and Christopher Jacob; and four great-grandchildren, Aries, Ellis, Caitlynn, and Christina. In addition to these, he leaves behind a host of other family and friends who will cherish his memory.

Funeral Services with Military Honors will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. Mike Greene officiating. Burial will follow on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast in Grayson. Kentucky.

Friends may visit 6:00- 9:00 PM Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.  

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
