Tammy Jo “T” Gilliam, age 54, of Olive Hill, KY and Myrtle Beach, SC, entered in to rest Saturday Morning July 12, 2025, at U.K. Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with Cancer. She was born February 25, 1971, in Columbus, OH.
Tammy Jo graduated from West Carter High School in 1989 and from Morehead State University in 1991. She was a Cat Scan Technician for 31 years, 21 of those years she worked with the Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. She proudly served in the Army Reserves from 1991-1997 and was of the Christian faith.
Affectionately known as “T” to her friends and family, she enjoyed crafting, beach life, Carnival cruising with Family and friends and her beloved bird “Sunni”
Tammy Jo was preceded in death by her mother Charlotte Faye Gilliam Sturgill, Paternal Grandparents John and Lydia Jane Gilliam and Maternal Grandparents Burl and Goldie Sturgill.
She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Wes and Chelle Gilliam of Olive Hill, KY; one niece and nephew-in-law, Kylie and Samuel Rayburn of Olive Hill, KY; two uncles and aunt, David Sturgill and Lonnie and Phyllis Sturgill both of Olive Hill, KY; cousins and their spouses, Lalona and Chris Hall, Dwight and Rose Sturgill, and Tim and Tonya Sturgill all of Olive Hill, KY. In addition, she is also survived by a close friend Sarita Ashford and all of her South Carolina Family and a host of relatives and friends that will cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday July 15, 2025, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. Jeremy Traylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Wes Gilliam, Lonnie Sturgill, David Sturgill, Dwight Sturgill, Tim Sturgill, Calem Sturgill, Samuel Rayburn and Chris Hall.
Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 PM Monday July 14, 2025, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY.
