Shirley Jean Sparks

Shirley Jean Sparks, 72, of Olive Hill, KY, entered into rest Tuesday morning, November 7, 2023, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY. She was born October 29, 1951, in Mansfield, OH, a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Riggs Stevens.

Shirley attended and was member of the Brinegar Church of God for 30 years.  She enjoyed watching UK basketball; playing with her puppy, Ginger; and spending time with her kids and grandkids.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Tom Holbrook; one son, Robert Holbrook; one sister, Dianna Mosier; three brothers, Billy Stevens, Danny Stevens, David Stevens; and one grandson, Jesse Holbrook.

Shirley is survived by her husband of nine years, Michael Sparks; one daughter, Tammy Sparks and her husband Joshua; two sons, Ricky Holbrook and his wife Sandy, and Jeff Holbrook and his wife Christa; two sisters-in-law, Lisa Stevens, and Tammy Lynn Sparks Blevins; one brother, Gary Stevens; two brothers-in-law, Ivan Ray Sparks, and Bobby Dean Sparks; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jacob, Bryar, Austin, Gracie, Jasmine, and Brayden; and one great-grandchild on the way. In addition to these, she leaves behind her bestie, Florence Sparks, as well as a host of other family and friends who will greatly miss her and cherish her memory.

Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Olive Hill, KY. Burial will follow at the Holbrook Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Friday, November 10, 2023; and 8:30 AM until the time of service, Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
