Shelia Kay (Barker) Burton

Shelia Kay Barker Burton, 54, of Olive Hill, KY entered into rest, Thursday afternoon July 13, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 6, 1969, in Morehead, KY, a daughter of the late Arnel and Ruby Jeffrey Baker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jewell Fultz, and Barbara Hall: two brothers, James and Kenneth Barker, and her Mother-in-law and Father-in-law, Phillip, and Linda Burton.

Shelia was a Senior Practice Manager at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY and of the Christian Faith. She loved spending time with her family, crafting, and especially enjoyed Cooking for everyone and planning and hosting the Barker and Burton Family Gathering every year during the Christmas Season which happened to be her Favorite. Her T.V. was found on either HGTV or the FOOD Channel or a Scary Movie. She had taken up genealogy tracing both Her and Randy’s family history back over 10 generations. Shelia also while not a huge fan, Supported Randy’s NASCAR, and U.K. Basketball Habit for many years. She also had a heart for animals and pets, including her pups Leo and Ella.

Shelia is survived by her Loving and Devoted Husband of 37 Years, Randy Burton whom she married January 18, 1986; two sons, Zachary Burton of Ashland, KY and Jeremy Burton of Morehead, KY; Five Sister’s and two brothers-in-law Judy Cox, Sue Simmons, Teresa Blevins, Alice Faye Roberts and her husband James, Debbie Armstrong and her husband Butch; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Homer Barker and his wife Diane, Willard Barker, Lester Barker and Daniel Barker and his wife Nancy; two sister and one brother-in-law Edwina Burton, Karen Jenkins, and Brian Burton. She is also survived by two nieces whom where more like her sisters, Vicki Simmons, and Carolee Tabor.

In addition to these Sheila is survived by a host of Nieces, Nephews, Relatives, Friends, and Co-Workers who will forever Cherish Her Memory.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday July 18, 2023, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Olive Hill, KY with Bro. Jimmy Barker, and Bro. Ethan Barker Officiating. Burial will follow in the Burton Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-9 PM Monday July 17, 2023, and after 9 AM Tuesday at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, Ky 41164.

Pallbearers will be Justin Jaynes, Evan Burton, Garrett Jenkins, Austin Skaggs, Carl Ray Fultz, and Joey Fultz.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Roman and Cruz Jaynes.    

Memorial Contributions in Sheila's Memory May be made to the Robert J. Baumann, MD Fund for Neurology Residents at the University of Kentucky ( Donation information is available at the Funeral Home.)
