Rondell “Ron” E. Blevins
1956-2025
Rondell “Ron” Blevins, 69, of Olive Hill, KY, entered into rest Thursday afternoon, May 15, 2025, at his residence. He was born at Stovall Hospital in Grayson, KY, January 10, 1956, to the late, Robert and Kathleen Wilson Blevins.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by three sisters; Sandra Jarvis, Brenda Hargett, and Anita Porter; two very special friends, Bernard Stallard and Mark Oney.
Ron was of the Christian faith who associated with the Mountain Top Chapel Church, and later, Providence Freewill Baptist Church, where many members visited and held service.
Ron was married for 44 years to Anita Hedge Blevins. He loved his wife and daughter, Jessica Faith, and had a special relationship with his grand-dude-son Evan. Ron was a soldier in the Army and served his country in Korea. Ron retired from CSX after 25 years of service.
Ron loved to entertain through his acoustic skills and distinctive voice as he entertained crowds with the Southern Rail Band where he sang and played guitar. Ron introduced himself as “Rockin’-Ron” much to his grand-dude-sons approval who stated, “he was a true rock-n-roll star.
Ron is survived by his wife, Anita Hedge Blevins; one daughter, Jessica Faith Hedge, one grandson; Evan Barney; three brothers, John Blevins of Olive Hill, KY, Charles Blevins of Grayson, KY, Darrell Blevins of Sandy Hook, KY; two sisters, Rita Blevins of Olive Hill, KY, Mary Howard of West Liberty, KY; and two brothers-in-law, Michael Jarvis of Morehead, KY, Terry Porter of North Carolina; In addition to these he is survived by special friends, David Hicks and the Hicks Family whom he considered as family.
Funeral Services will be conducted 12:00 PM, Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. Bobby Day and Bro. Michael Bryant officiating.
Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 PM, Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
