Roger Scaggs

1959-2026

Roger Scaggs, 66, of Olive Hill, KY entered into rest Tuesday afternoon, January 13, 2026, at Lee County Care and Rehab in Beattyville, KY.  He was born on May 16, 1959 in Carter County, a son to the late Lola Sparks and Preston Scaggs.

Roger was of the Christian faith and attended the Church of God. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed getting his daily free cup of coffee at the gas station while visiting with friends and acquaintances there.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one nephew, Lee Scaggs.

Roger is survived by two daughters, Ashley (Jordan) Evans of Jeffersonville, KY and Debra (Frankie) Herdt of Louisville, KY; one son, Roger (Justine) Scaggs of Taylorsville, KY; one brother, Leroy Scaggs of Olive Hill; nine grandchildren, Kinsley, Rylan, Jensen, Tana, Colter, Jessi, Michaela, Preston, and Alexis; and two great-grandchildren, Maximus and Elijah. In addition to these, he leaves behind a host of other family and friends who will cherish his memory.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. Clifford “Tippy” Price officiating.

Friends may visit 11:00 until the time of service, January 19, 2026, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.  

Memorial contributions may be made in Roger's memory to assist the family with final expenses.
