Robert Mitchell "Mitch" Roe

Mr. Robert Mitchell “Mitch” Roe, 73, of Emerson, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Friday morning, November 10, 2023. He was born July 5, 1950, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a son of the late Malcolm and Mary June Roe.

Mitch was a faithful Christian for 30 years.  He was retired from CSX Railroad, a U.S. Navy Veteran, and a lifelong farmer.  He loved going to church, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Malcolm Wayne Roe; and one sister, Amanda Roe Lang.

Mitch is survived by his wife of 30 years, Shirley Nolan Roe; his seven children, Terry (Lori) Roe, Lori Jenkins, Elizabeth (Rex) Kuriger, Sarah Roe, Rhonda (Rick) Lewis, Tony (Sandy) Nolan, and Rebecca (Bill) Wilson; 18 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Karen) Roe; one sister, Mary “Eenie” Roe; and one sister-in-law, Jo Roe. In addition to these he also leave behind many other family members, church family, and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral Services will be conducted 12:00 PM Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Johnson and Bro. Clyde Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Cemetery with military honors.

Pallbearers will be J.B. Carter, Jack Pennington, Bart Blackburn, Rick Lewis, Bill Wilson, and Tyler McGlone.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Roe and Mitch Stevens.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday, November 13, 2023, and 9:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, Ky 41164.
