Mary Opal Spears, 86, of Olive Hill, KY entered into rest Thursday evening January 5, 2023 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY. She was born June 27, 1936 in Carter County, KY a daughter of the late Floyd and Bertha Smith. 

Opal was of the Apostolic faith and attended Limestone Apostolic Church.  She enjoyed sewing, writing poetry, crafting, and going to yard sales.  She especially loved spending time with close friends and family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Roxanne Parish Ellington; two sisters, Phyllis Knipp, and Avanelle Smith; and three brothers, Vernon Smith, Junior Smith, and Floyd Smith, Jr.

She is survived by one daughter, Larna Lee Parish Binion; two sons, William A. (Tammie) Parish, and David Wayne Parish; three adopted children, Ginny Spears, Shane Spears, and Jessica Spears, seven grandchildren, Melissa Sparks, Andrea Parish, Alex Spears, Julia Binion, Jacob Spears, Lorey Lowe, and Brenda Damron; ten great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and special nieces, and nephews, Debbie Smith, Judy Clark. Wilma Perry, Jamie Knipp, Chucky Knipp, Johnny Knipp, Randy Knipp, and Jackie Knipp. In addition to these, she leaves behind a host of other family and friends who will greatly miss her.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the Limestone Apostolic Church with Bro. Rick Crank officiating.
