Mary Elizabeth “Mary Jo” Frazier Jessie

1945-2022        

Mary Elizabeth “Mary Jo” Jessie, 77, of Olive Hill, KY, entered into rest Monday, November 28, 2022 at her residence. She was born March 18, 1945, in Carter County, KY; a daughter of the late Roland K. Frazier and Cova Stamper Frazier Garvin.

Mary Jo was a 45 year member of Kibbey Chapel Christian Holiness Church, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Olive Hill Chapter #290. She retired as an aide from Carter County Schools after 22 years.  Mary Jo was also a homemaker, and loved helping to take care of her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy B. Jessie; one daughter, Deborah Lynn; and two sisters, Lois McGlone, and Garnett Porter.

Mary Jo is survived by one son, David L. Jessie; three grandchildren, Hunter L. Jessie, David R. Jessie, and Breanna N. Jessie. In addition to these, she leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members who will greatly miss her.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. Raymond Steagall, and Bro. Clyde Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, December 1, 2022, and anytime on Friday, December 2, 2022; at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt St., Olive Hill, KY 41164.

David Jessie, Hunter Jessie, Scott McGlone, Kevin McGlone, David Refitt, Raymond Porter, Marty McGlone, and Randy Jessie will serve as pallbearers.

Breanna Jessie, Carla Caudill, Covan Jill Butler, Carolyn Mollett, Richard Allen McGlone, Mikey Chapin, Charlene Messer, and Deanna Jessie have been named as honorary pallbearers.
