Martin “Marty” Dale Barker
Martin “Marty” Dale Barker, 60, of Olive Hill, KY, entered into rest Saturday morning, October 16, 2021 at St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, KY; after an extended battle with cancer. He was born January 18, 1961 in Rowan County, KY, to the late Beulah Mae Barker Stamper and his late step-father, Reuben Stamper.
Marty loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed watching westerns, riding four-wheelers, and listening to music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William “Bub” Charles Barker; one sister, Helen Kaye Moore; one sister-in-law, Judy Barker; and one nephew, Matthew Moore.
Marty is survived by two sons, Steven Barker of Morehead, KY and Bradley (Brittany Lewis) Barker of Vanceburg, KY; two brothers, Michael “Mike” Barker and Gary “Mick” (Brenda) Barker, both of Olive Hill; two sisters, Rita (Barry) Brown of Calhoun, GA and Cynthia (David) Bond of Olive Hill; one brother-in-law, Coy Moore of Stark Ridge; three granddaughters, Brooke L’shae Barker, McKenzie Faye Barker, and Kara Nicole Barker; and one special niece, Sarah Bond (Matthew) Cluff of Quincy, KY. In addition to these, he leaves behind a host of other friends and family that will greatly miss him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00PM, Monday, October 18, 2021, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. Larry Joe Ruley officiating. Burial will follow at the Dean Cemetery, Lost Hills, in Olive Hill, KY.
Friends may visit 11:00AM – 1:00 PM, Monday, October 18, 2021, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Kevin Maddix, Terry McClurg, Keith Brown, Boone Barker, Bradley Barker, and Paul Conn will serve as Pallbearers.
Steven Barker, Gary Lee Carroll, Chett McClurg, Mark Moore, Chris Barker, Jeff Barker, and Matthew Moore (a nephew who preceeded him in death) are named as Honorary Pallbearers.
