"The Silver Fox"

Katherine Rae Wilson Wilburn, 87, of Olive Hill, KY entered into rest Friday evening April 14, 2023, at her residence. She was Born September 1, 1935, in Carter County, KY, a daughter of the late Clyde Garrett and Marie Stephens Wilson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband of 51 Years Kenton Wilburn on December 16, 2004; one sister Jean Wilson; two brothers Gary and Jack Wilson; and one grandson Jeremy Michael Wilburn.

Affectionally known as “The Silver Fox” Katherine was of the Christian Faith and attended Forgiven in Christian Faith Church. She worked as a supervisor at Ralco and other Garment Industries for many years, she also worked for Carter County Board of Education as a Cafeteria Manager at Grahn Elementary School, where she enjoyed and loved feeding and seeing all the kids in her community. Along with her Husband She spent over 10 years serving as Carter Caves Campground Host and Office Supervisor they also were avid campers spending Spring, Summer and Fall at the Caves and Winters in Florida.

She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathy Wilburn -Blount(Mark), and Shellie Wilburn Smith and her husband Jeff; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brent Wilburn and his wife Cathy Lee and Terry E. Wilburn (Lois); two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Sue Wilson and Clyde and Janet Wilson; nine grandchildren, Tera Wilburn, Kellie Boggs, Angela Phelps, Shannon Howard, Sara Wilburn, Ethan Wilburn, Garrett Webb, Layne and Layla Boggs; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

In addition to these Katherine is survived by a host of Relatives and Friends that will forever cherish their memories of “The Silver Fox.”

Celebration of The Silver Fox’s Life  will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday April 19, 2023, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service with David Gee Officiating. Burial will follow in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery

Serving as pallbearers will be Garrett Webb, Brent Wilburn, Terry Wilburn, Mike Wilson, Ethan Wilburn, Tony Wilson, Allen Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Wilson and Clyde “Clydie” Wilson.

Friends may call   5-8 PM Tuesday April 18, 2023, and after 9:00 AM Wednesday at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164
