James William McGuire

1960-2022

James William McGuire, 62, of Morehead, KY, entered into rest Tuesday evening, December 27, 2022, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY. He was born November 21, 1960, in Morehead, KY a son to the late George Dowell McGuire and Dorothy Crank McGuire.

William worked at saw mills all his life until he had to stay home and become a full time caregiver to his wife.  William enjoyed telling jokes and fishing.  He has been known to spend a few nights at Cave Run drowning several worms.  But most of all, Wiliam loved spending time with his family and the ones he loved.  He would stay up all night with his nieces and nephews playing cards, watching t.v., talking, making memories, and just being the best uncle he could be.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Penny Christine Daily McGuire; one brother, Clearance Earnie McGuire; two sisters, Glenna Fern Cooley, and baby Georgeann McGuire; and one nephew, George Estill Cooley.

William is survived by two special people who he called his own, Elena Adkins, and Amanda Rodger; as well as her children whom all knew him as papaw; four brothers, Herman McGuire, John McGuire, David McGuire, and Billy McGuire; and three sisters, Viola Cooley, Margie Binion, and Janie McGuire.  In addition to these he leaves behind his neighbors, who he grew to love and became his family.  Thumper, Gracie, Burl, Joyce, and all the others who lived around him; he loved them all dearly.  He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly.

In keeping with William's wishes there will be no public services.
