Harold Richard “Rick” Lewis Jr., age 73 of Olive Hill, KY entered into rest Saturday morning October 19,2024 at his residence after a Courageous Battle with Cancer. He was born on July 23, 1951, in Links, OH, a son of the late Harold Lewis Sr. and Mildred Irene Cooper Pollard.
Rick proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict, being stationed in Korea. He was a retired telecommunications worker, and enjoyed working on old cars, cooking and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a long-time member of the Olive Hill American Legion Post #138 where he served on the Honor Guard conducting Military Honors for over 15 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Step-Mother Lea Littleton Lewis; one daughter Nancy Johnson; one brother Gary Lewis; one uncle whom he considered to be a brother Clyde Carpenter; and two brothers-in-Law, Fred Hobson, and Glen Mark Brown.
He is survived by his Loving wife of 50 years Anita Louise Barker Lewis whom he married in 1974; two daughters Angela (Matthew) Meade of Morehead, KY, Stephanie (Billy James) Binion of Olive Hill, KY; one son Jeffrey Lewis of Olive Hill, KY; three brothers Dale (Debbie) Lewis of Olive Hill, KY, Kelly (Sherry) Lewis of Links, OH, Michael Lewis of Links, OH; two sisters Connie Hobson of Louisa, KY and Debbie Journey of Portsmouth, OH; two sisters-in-law Rita Lewis of Links, OH and Shirley Brown of Olive Hill, KY; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. In addition to these he is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends along with his American Legion Brothers and sisters that will cherish his memory.
Funeral Services and Military Honors will be conducted 6:00 PM Monday October 21, 2024, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, By the Olive Hill American Legion Post 138 Honor Guard. Burial will follow later in the Carpenter Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM Monday October 21, 2024, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164
