Gregory Allen Rose
1952 - 2022
Gregory Allen Rose, 70, of Olive Hill, KY, entered into rest Wednesday morning, June 8, 2022, at his residence. He was born January 4, 1952, in Mansfield, OH, to the late John Lovell Rose and Jessie Lucille Littleton Tackett.
Greg was of the Christian faith. He retired from Northeast Kentucky Community Action Agency, where he worked in various positions, including transportation and weatherization. Greg had a love of old cars, including his ’92 Dodge pickup that he bought new and cherished. He enjoyed working on and teaching his grandsons how to work on vehicles. He was also an exceptional carpenter and spent a lot of time teaching his grandsons how to build and repair things.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdad, Walter Tackett; one brother, Larry Rose; and one brother-in-law, Darrell “Doc” Boggs.
Greg is survived by his wife of 44 years, Teresa Boggs Rose; one son, Richard (Deanna) Boggs, two grandsons, Ethan Boggs, and Bradyn Flener; three sisters, Linda Hanshaw, Gwendolyn Kiser, and Pamela Tackett; and two brothers, Walter (Linda) Tackett, and James (Sheila) Tackett. In addition to these, Greg leaves behind a host of family, friends, nieces, and nephews who will greatly miss him.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. Phillip Roe officiating. Burial will follow at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Olive Hill, KY.
Friends may visit from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday, June 10, 2022, and 9:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt St., Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Gary Jenkins, Brandon Boggs, Donnie Perry, Bradyn Flener, Ethan Boggs, Jeff Holbrook, Shawn Hanshaw, and Jackie Brown will serve as Pallbearers.
Shaw Boggs, Ronnie Boggs, and Watt Hanshaw have been named as Honorary Pallbearers.
