Gary Lee Erwin

Gary Lee Erwin, age 77, of Olive Hill, KY entered into rest Friday evening October 25, 2024, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY following a brief illness. He was born May 30, 1947, in Carter County, KY, a son of the late Ora Albert Erwin and Geneva Porter Erwin Ingram.

Mr. Erwin was a retired educator having taught Language Arts and Science for 28 years between Olive Hill Elementary and West Carter Middle School. He went on to work for James Family Outfitters for 5 years and Morehead State University for 11 years. He was a Christian and a member of Three Pine Freewill Baptist Church in Olive Hill, KY. Gary loved to sing and was a part of the gospel group, The Ambassadors, most importantly he loved spending time with his family and four granddaughters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Step-Father George “Dutch” Ingram.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Linda Lou Hall Erwin, whom he married on Valentines day in 1976; two sons Christopher Gary Erwin and his wife Rebecca of Mt. Sterling, KY, Jeffrey Lee Erwin and his wife Rachel of Olive Hill, KY; four grand daughters Katie, Emily and Sarah Erwin of Olive Hill, KY and Cecilia Lynne Erwin of Mt. Sterling, KY; one special friend Ann Blevins. In addition to these Gary leaves a host of Church Family and friends that will cherish his Memory.

Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday October 29, 2024, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Olive Hill, KY with Brother Gary Sparks Officiating. Burial will follow in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00- 9:00 PM Monday October 28, 2024, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164
