Faron Mitchell Stevens
1957-2026
Faron Mitchell Stevens, age 68, of Vanceburg, KY, entered into rest Saturday morning, June 27, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV. He was born on September 15, 1957, in Grayson, KY, a son of the late Ashby and Goldie Riley Stevens.
Mitchell worked his entire life logging and farming. He loved to hunt, fish, shooting trap, mud sling, and four-wheeling. He also had a passion for riding and showing Tennessee Walking Horses, having owned and ridden “Hold on Loosely” at one time. Mitchell also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Stevens and Sammy Stevens; four brothers-in-law, Donnie Bond, William “Bill” Bradley, Robert Mitch Roe, and Ronnie Nolan; and one sister-in-law, Linda Stevens.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Shellie and Jeff Smith of Olive Hill, KY; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dustyn and Holly Stevens of Spring Hill, TN, and Dalton and Makayla Stevens of Mt. Sterling, KY; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary F. Bond, Voline Bradley, Zelma and Bradley Roe all of Olive Hill, KY, and Shirley Sue Roe of Emerson, KY; one brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Laura Stevens of Emerson, KY; one sister-in-law, Betty Stevens of Emerson, KY; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a special friend of many years, Sue James of Olive Hill, KY. In addition to these, he leaves several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home in Olive Hill, KY, with Bro. Paul Webb and Bro. Roy Lands officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Cemetery in Emerson, KY.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM-1:00 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Pallbearers will be Bill Wilson Sr., Bill Wilson Jr., Ashby Stevens, Cruz Littleton, Tony Nolan, and Tyler McGlone.
