Eugene Knipp
1933-2024
Eugene “Gene” Knipp, 91, of Olive Hill, KY, entered in to rest Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY. He was born March 6, 1933, a son, to the late Willard and Lula Easterling Knipp.
Gene was of the Christian faith and enjoyed riding horses. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Gene was also a plumbing contractor for over 60 years and owner of Gene’s Plumbing and Hardware.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Walker; two sisters, Ruby Williams, and Faye Shumate; and five brothers, Earl Knipp, Chester Knipp, Wylie Knipp, Robert “Bob” Knipp, and Lloyd Knipp.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Grace Lambert Knipp, two sons, Billy (Lisa) Knipp, and David (Cherri) Knipp; six grandchildren, Jana Rehrer, John Walker, Tori Thomas, Kari Schlarman, Lauren Knipp, and Jill Knipp; and one great-granddaughter, Annalee Thomas. In addition to these, he leaves behind a host of other family and friends who will greatly miss him and cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 7, 2024, at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Bro. Terry Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Lambert Cemetery. Military honors will precede the funeral service.
Friends may visit 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY.
John Walker, Gary Knipp, Roger Knipp, Justin Lawson, Dale Hartman, and Ryan Hartman will serve as pallbearers.
Richard Stallard, Carl Lambert, Jeff Hedge, Danny Lowe, and all of his riding buddies will serve as honorary pallbearers.
