James Dustin Rose, age 52 of Cynthiana, Kentucky, passed away on September 20, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Boyd Co Kentucky on April 29, 1971. He was the beloved son of Janet Warnock Rose and the late James Davis Rose of Flatwoods, Kentucky.
Dustin is survived by Jama Osborne Rose, his loving wife of 29 years and his son his forever fishing buddy, Jameson Davis Rose (Abbi Logan, longtime girlfriend). He is also survived by his only brother David Brett (Andrea) Rose, nephews Brandon and Bradley, and a host of family and friends.
Dustin was a graduate of Raceland High School, Morehead State University, and lived a life of accomplishments, compassion, and service to the Lord. Dustin was the owner/agency manager of Harrison County Farm Bureau for 24 years and former agent of Greenup County Farm Bureau. He served the community in many ways as a member of the Harrison County Education Committee, President of Cynthiana Lyons Club, member of Harrison County Youth Football Board, and supported various youth sports and activities. Dustin was also a former minister at Olive Hill Church of Christ for 10 years before moving to Cynthiana, Kentucky where he established the Licking Valley Church of Christ in 2008. He co-ministered, served as an elder, and worked tirelessly to build the church and shepherd its members.
Along with all his lifelong accomplishments Dustin was an avid fisherman where he spent countless hours on the lakes of Kentucky with his beloved son, JD, while he also mentored many adopted sons, sharing his love of being on the water and fishing. He was a pillar of his community where he will have a permanent place in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Licking Valley Church of Christ with Dr. Stephen Besson, Joe Cochran, and Allen Johnson officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday, September 23r, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Licking Valley Church of Christ, 449 US HWY 62 West, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031
