Dora Hamilton Stevens

Dora Hamilton Stevens, age 94, of Olive Hill, KY entered into rest Friday afternoon May 17, 2024, at her residence. She was born September 29, 1929, in Olive Hill, KY a daughter of the late William “Willy” Hamilton and Sophie Thompson Hamilton.

Dora attended the Garvin Ridge Wesleyan Church and was a Homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, working in flowers, spending time with her children and grandchildren and helping others however she could.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Donald E. Stevens in 1991; one daughter Tammy Sue Barker in 2023; five sisters, Verna Hall, Meldie Evans, Nancy Seagraves, Edith Grills and Rosemary Erwin and two brothers William Hamilton and James “Jim” Hamilton.

She is survived two daughters, Donna Jean Masters of Louisville, KY, Vicky Lynn Stevens of Olive Hill, KY; two sons, Ronnie “Pud” Fisher and his wife Debbie of Olive Hill, KY, Danny Stevens of Ashland, KY; one son-in-law Ryan Barker of Olive Hill, KY;grandchildren, Gerry and Erika Fisher, Lynsey and Josh Varney, Amy and Frank McDonald, Tammi and Lynn Reeves, Donavan Kornmiller, Stacy Stevens and Dylan Barker; nine great-grandchildren; two special friends Bonnie Bowling and Joann Smith. In addition to these she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends that will cherish her memory.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to St. Claire Hospice for their care and compassion in caring for Dora.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday May 21, 2024, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. J.C. Bond and Bro. Gary Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Tuesday May 21, 2024, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street Olive Hill, KY 41164.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie “Pud” Fisher, Gerry Fisher, Josh Varney, Dylan Barker, Donavan Kornmiller, Frank McDonald, Lynn Reeves and Zach McDonald. 

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dora’s grandchildren and great grandchildren.
