Dempsey Milton Miles, 67, of Rush, KY, entered into rest Saturday evening, November 4, 2023, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was born February 2, 1956, in Pikeville, KY, a son of the late Dempsey and Nancy Layne Miles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Eliza Miles; his cousins, Jackie Blackburn, Hamilton Blackburn, and Ira “Bubby” Blackburn; and his brother, Roy Miles. In addition to these, he was also preceded in death by several other family members and friends who were there to welcome him into his eternal home.
Dempsey was a Class 4 Water Plant Operator for the city of Pikeville for 25 years. He attended Ashland Heights Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed working on motorcycles, particularly Harleys, and trucks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Deena, whom he married June 14, 1995; one son, Jason Miles of Pikeville; three daughters, Michelle (Adam) Justice of Pikeville, Amanda (Kenneth) Mills of Grayson, and Gina Planovsky of Rush; two sisters, Emma (Harold) Kendrick of Tennessee, and Marie (Ted) Carter of Mt. Sterling; three brothers, Dan (Wilma) Miles of Ashland, Donald Miles and Junior Miles, both of Pike County; eleven grandchildren, Ashley, Kelsey, Jalyn, Gavin, Lukus, Joslyn, Dempsey, Kennedy, Presley, Dexter, and Regan; and two great-grandchildren, Sullivan, and Clay. In addition to these, Dempsey leaves behind a host of other family and friends who will greatly miss him and cherish his memory.
Funeral Services will be conducted 12:30 PM, Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Olive Hill, KY. Entombment will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, KY.
Visitation will be 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM, Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164
