David Gregory Oney, 51, of Olive Hill, KY, entered into rest Monday evening, September 20, 2021 at St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, KY. He was born January 24, 1970 in Morehead, KY, to Shirley Mae Spenlau Oney and the late Charles Denver Oney, Sr.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Charles Boggs.

Being the youngest, David loved to cook, garden and raise flowers. He had a talent for wood carving and making knives. He loved his family, kids, and grandkids and he will always remain the “baby” of his brothers.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Marla Ann Oney; three daughters, Whitley Shirlinda (Chance) Cecil, Chyna (Brendon) Cundiff, and Chyann (James) Hanson; two sons, Paul Mitchell Mabry, and Wyatt Jacob Arvil Oney; five brothers, Charles "Chuck” (Deadra) Oney, Jesse Allan (Stevie) Oney, Michael Wayne (Dana) Oney, Brian Keith (Cheryl) Oney, and Charles B. (Z) Maddix; and eight grandchildren, Baleigh, McKenzie, Piper, Kensi, Zade, Callen, Ava, and Lily. In addition to these, he leaves behind a host of other friends and family that will greatly miss him.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00PM, Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. Ramah McKenzie and Brendon Cundiff officiating. Burial will follow at the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, KY.

Friends may visit 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Wednesday, September 22, 2021; and 9:00 AM until the time of service on, Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
