David Shan Henderson

Mr. David Shan Henderson, 72, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center. He was born July 24, 1950 in Boyd County, Kentucky.

Shan was of the Baptist faith.  He loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman; enjoying ice fishing, and fishing of all types, snowmobiling, hunting, gardening, and cooking.  He retired from the welding trade, where his job had taken him all over the United States and he became friends with all walks.

He was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Ora Henderson of Indiana.

In addition to his parents, Marcella Ison Henderson Miller and Jackie B. Miller, Shan is survived by two daughters, Shanna Renee Henderson, and Angela Diane Henderson,  both of Indiana, ; one son, David Shan Henderson II; five granddaughters, three grandsons, one great-granddaughter, and one great-grandson all of Indiana; three sisters, Jackie Jo (Billy Joe) Rayburn of Olive Hill, Elizabeth (Carl) Waits of Lexington, KY, and Marca Mae (Phillip) Budzenski of Carmel, IN; and one brother, George Keith Miller of Olive Hill. In addition to these, he leaves behind many other family members and friends who will miss him.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 PM, Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the First Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at the Garvin Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may visit 6:00 -8:00 PM, Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY, and 1:30 PM until the time of service, Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the First Baptist Church, 365 E Tom T Hall Blvd, Olive Hill, KY 41164.

Tyler Henderson, David Henderson, Billy Joe Rayburn, Carl Waits, George Keith Miller, and Phil Budzenski will serve as pallbearers.
