David Doyle Clay

1955 - 2023

David Doyle Clay, 67, of Lucasville, OH entered into rest Monday morning, August 7, 2023, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born November 8, 1955, in Mansfield, OH, a son of the late Ruby Clay and Pauline Reeves Clay.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Missy Ann Clay; three sisters, Joyce Slayton, Trisha Jackson, and Marsha Ann Clay; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

David was of the Christian faith.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, music, and spending time with his family; especially his grandkids.

He is survived one daughter, Kathy Ann Clay and her fiance’ Michael Skeen, of Lucasville, OH; one son, David Lee Clay Jr. and his wife Amanda of Lucasville, OH; one sister, Esteralita Mays of Olive Hill; two brothers, Larry Clay and his wife Joyce of Lucasville, and Jeff Clay and his wife Kathy of Mansfield, OH; five grandchildren, Brittany Skeen, Charlene Skeen, James Clay, Brayden Clay, and David Clay Jr.; and one great grandchild, Tyler Skeen. In addition to these, David also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other friends and family that will greatly miss him and cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home in Olive Hill, KY with Bro. Jimmy Barker officiating.  Burial will follow at the Clay Cemetery.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Friday, August 11, 2023 and 9:00 AM until the time of service, Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
