Danny Arvel "Papaw Danny" Holbrook

Danny Arvel Holbrook, 67, of Olive Hill, KY entered into rest Saturday morning April 22, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 29, 1955 at Stovall Hospital in Grayson, KY a son of the late Arvel Holbrook and Myrtle Kathryn Holbrook of Olive KY.

In addition to his Father he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Glenna Faye Parsons Holbrook on November 11, 2020; two sisters, Charleen Maddix and Alma Tackett; and one brother-in-law, Dallas Gilliam.

Danny has worked many years in Construction and was of the Christian Faith. Lovingly known as “Papaw Danny” he enjoyed spending time with family especially his grandchildren, Working on the farm tending to the animals, Riding Four wheelers and Grinding stumps.

Along with his mother he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Lori Faye Wright and her husband John of Morehead, KY; one son and daughter-in-law Danny Joe Holbrook and his wife Angie of Olive Hill, KY; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Bonnie Gilliam of Olive Hill, KY and Sherri Frerichs and her husband Terry of Stanton, KY; two brothers-in-law, Sammy Maddix of Olive Hill, KY and Gary Parsons of Bath County, KY; four grandchildren, Danni Alyssa Holbrook, Maci Jo Holbrook, Eli Ransome Wright, Aubrey Grace Wright; and a host of relatives and friends that will cherish his memory.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday April 24, 2023 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home in Olive Hill, KY with Bro. Bobby Day and Bro. Mikey Hatton officiating. Burial will follow in the Holbrook-Clay Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Joe Holbrook, David Sammons, Sammy Lee Maddix, Gary Clay, Greg Orcutt, Todd Minor.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlie Cline, Carmel Holbrook, Eli Wright, Jeremy Frerichs, Charlie Logan, and Layne Minor.

Friends may visit 11 AM – 1 PM Monday April 24, 2023 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
