Dale Curtis Morgan

Dale Curtis Morgan, age 72 of Olive Hill, KY entered into rest Wednesday morning, November 6, 2024, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV. He was born on May 29, 1952, at Stovall Hospital in Grayson KY, a son of the late Lewis Vernon Morgan and Thelma Deane Bush Morgan.

Dale proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1970-1972 and served overseas during the Vietnam Conflict, from 1971-1972. He worked as a machinist for Marathon Petroleum, where he retired after 30 years. He was also a member of the United Steel Workers Local 8-00719. Dale was also a member of Three Pine Freewill Baptist Church and was a ready volunteer for their Street Ministry. He loved serving his church, and cleaning and detailing his truck and car. One of Dale’s favorite pastimes was coaching Little League Baseball and rooting for his New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds MLB teams. He was known to repeatedly ask his players, “You want to play ball or go home?” He loved to hunt, mow grass, which set the standards of lawn care in his neighborhood.

He is survived by one son, Ashley Scott (Jessica) Morgan of Memphis, TN; one daughter, Kelly Morgan and fiancée Brennen of Elizabethtown, KY; his twin brother, Gale Burtis (Joletta) Morgan of Olive Hill, KY, brother, Robert Douglas Morgan of Olive Hill, KY, one sister, Margaret (Troy) Roark of Olive Hill, KY; two grandchildren, Sansa and Willow Morgan of Memphis, TN and special friend, Ralph Lowe of Olive Hill, KY.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years, Beverly Duncan Morgan and one brother Ronnie Morgan of Iron Hill, KY.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Three Pine Freewill Baptist Church, 146 KY-3298, in Olive Hill, KY with Bro. Gary Sparks officiating. Military Honors will be Conducted by Olive Hill American Legion Post #138

Visitation will be 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Three Pine Freewill Baptist Church 146 KY-3298, Olive Hill, KY. 

Burial will be 1:30 PM Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast, 100 Veterans Memorial Dr., Grayson, KY 41143.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Danny Lowe and Marathon co-workers
