Christine Carroll Bailey

1927 – 2026

Christine Carroll Bailey, 98, entered into heavenly rest Monday, May 25, 2026, at Elliott County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Sandy Hook, KY. She was born September 15, 1927, on Tick Ridge in Olive Hill, KY, to the late Noah Cecil and Sara Matilda Bear Carroll.

After nearly a century, Christine leaves behind a long and well-lived life marked by faith, devotion, and simple joys.  Baptized in the Apostolic Church and a faithful Christian, she carried her beliefs with quiet strength.  She found joy in embroidery, patchwork quilting, and tending her chickens.  She leaves behind a legacy of faith, hard work, and the kind of love that showed up in everyday moments.  These things, along with the many memories she left behind, will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Bailey; one sister, Irene Carroll; two brothers, Kenneth Elwood Carroll and Burnace Carroll; and two sons-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Carroll and Bill Stone.

Christine is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Carroll and Charlotte Holbrook; three sons, Johnny (Louise) Bailey, Alan (Vicky) Bailey, and Roger (Betty) Bailey; twelve grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren.  In addition to these, she leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, the wonderful residents and staff from the nursing home, as well as many friends and church family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. Clyde Mays, Bro. Arnold Ison, and Bro. Gary Sparks officiating.  Burial will follow at the Mabry Family Cemetery on Bear Ridge, Olive Hill, KY.

Friends may visit from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, May 28, 2026, and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.

Roger Holbrook, Chester Bailey, Johnny Bailey, Adam Bailey, William Perry, and Sam Rayburn will serve as pallbearers. Charles Carroll, Andy Carroll, and Claire Holbrook are honorary pallbearers.
