Charlene Lambert Newman, 90, of Grayson, KY, entered into rest Sunday, February 9, 2025, at UK St. Claire Hospital in Morehead, KY with family at her side.

She was born Sunday, December 23,1934, to the late Angle and Rubie Adkins Lambert at Sutton in Carter County, KY.

Charlene retired from Carter Caves State Resort Park where she worked in several departments- dining room, gift shop, housekeeping, campground, miniature golf, and tour guide.

She was a member of the Iron Hill Church of Christ and regularly attended worship services at the Friendship House in Grayson, KY.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Raymond Cleveland Newman, on Sunday, April 4, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jennifer Jo Newman Gipson, and her son-in-law, Gregory Fielding Henderson. Also, preceding her in death were sisters Irene Gibson Aldenderfer, Lucille Jessie, Della Violet Clifton Keen, and infants Nora Evelyn and Netta Loraine. One brother, Edgar Lambert, also preceded her in death along with her father-in-law and mother-in- law, Charley and Ada Carper Newman.

Charlene is survived by her three children, Vickey Diane Henderson of Olive Hill, KY, Raymond Edward (Ida) Newman of Taylorsville, GA, Richard Allen (Barbara) Newman of Olive Hill, KY; four grandchildren, Jonathan Raymond (Kayla) Newman of Cartersville, GA, Ashley Nicole Lake of Greenup, KY, Andrew Fielding (Kat) Henderson of Louisville, KY, Josh (Julee) Cooksey of Olive Hill, KY; eight great grandchildren, Aaron (Lynn) Edwards, Kristona (Brandon) Cole, Lilly Ann Lake, Seamus Lake, Case Edward Newman, Wade Carter Newman, Jacob Cooksey, Janell Cooksey; one great-great grandchild, Vincent Gipson; one brother, Kermit Eugene Lambert of Grayson, KY; 14 nephews and 10 nieces.

Eddie Newman, Rick Newman, Jonathan Newman, Andrew Henderson, Josh Cooksey, Abel Angel, David Gibson, and Bob Newman will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 14th at 1:00 PM at Duvall and Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 149 Whitt St., Olive Hill, with Minister Bobby Bond officiating. Burial will follow at the Huffman Cemetery at Iron Hill, KY.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 13th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday after 9:00 AM.
