Carmel Lowe
1931-2018
Carmel Lowe, 86, of Olive Hill, KY, entered into rest Thursday, March 22, 2018. He was born June 11, 1931 in Carter County, KY, a son of the late Mona Mauk & Lewis Lowe.
Mr. Lowe was a retired bus driver for Carter County Schools and he also worked at the clay mines. Carmel, a captain, served 31 years with the Grahn Fire Department. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed farming, beekeeping, and gardening. Carmel was a joker and loved to smile and make others smile.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ruth James Lowe; one son, Ricky Lowe; one sister, Velda Roe; three brothers, Arlie, Elmer and Lloyd; one granddaughter, Corey Lowe; and one great-granddaughter, Nekoda Lowe.
Carmel is survived by one daughter, Donna (Timmy) Boggs; three sons, Steve (Martha) Lowe, Roger (Lanetta) Lowe and Terry Lowe; one daughter-in-law, Rosalee Lowe; one sister, Aline Jacobs; one brother George (Pauline) Lowe; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and many other friends and family who will greatly miss him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Day and Bro. Steven McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow at the Lowe Cemetery in Olive Hill, KY.
Friends may call after 6:00pm, Saturday, March 24; 9:00am to 9:00pm, Sunday, March 25 and after 8:30am, Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Duval l & Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service, located at 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY.
