1998-2024
Breanna Nicole Jessie of Olive Hill, Kentucky, checked into her heavenly home, Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY. Bree was born in the Little Blessings Unit at Bellefonte Hospital, Ashland, KY, October 12, 1998, two weeks before her favorite holiday. Bree was of the Christian faith and attended Oakland Christian Holiness of Olive Hill, KY.
Bree was an outgoing and social child who grew into a caring, compassionate, young lady. She was selfless, who loved to help young ladies prepare for important special events. If you were loved by her, she would let you know. Bree lived her life on her terms, loved and laughed often, and always made sure to get in the last word.
Bree was a West Carter High school graduate, Class of 2017, where she met and developed special friendships with her classmates. Bree was a committed lifelong Comet who loved being a Lady Comet. She was a member of the Lady Comets Basketball team and received the Lady Warrior of the Year, earning a position at WCHS Varsity as an eighth grader. In high school, she was the water girl for the WCHS Football Team, a member of FFA, and dancer for the West Carter Dance Team.
Bree loved her family above all else. She adored her brothers, who she tried to protect and mother from birth. She wanted them to experience life at it’s best, but was willing to turn them into their parents to keep them safe. She spent hours on the farm with her brothers riding four-wheelers and side-by-sides, playing baseball, and hunting. Her dad taught her to hunt and killed her first buck at sixteen. Her brothers taught her to play baseball where she walked-on for their Little-League team at fourteen.
Bree spent a lot of time under the care of the University of Kentucky. Oftentimes when she should have been sleeping, she would leave the warmth of her bed to visit with the other patients and staff in the hospital. She escaped the confines of her bed and found her way to a fellow West Carter student’s room, Bradley Callihan in the middle of the night to participate in card games. Even in her illness, Bree supported people the best way she knew how, by visiting, laughing, and loving them through it.
Bree was preceded in death by Mary and Leroy Jessie and one infant aunt, Debra Lynn Jessie. Bree was the proud mother of Tater Jessie, her beloved daughter-dog Yorkie and grand-dog to her parents. She is survived by her parents, David Leroy and Debra Marie Jessie; her twin brothers, Hunter Leroy Jessie, David Randall (Ashley) Jessie; maternal grandparents, Robert “Randy” and Loretta Ward Sr. one uncle, Buddy Ward, Jr.; two cousins, Courtney Dunn, Dwayne Binion, Jr; devoted friend, Hannah Hanshaw Brown; one very special aunt, Barb Ward; four wonderful doctors, Dr. Michael Anstead, Dr. Naureen Narula, Dr. Kanga, Dietitian Karla Mullins; respiratory therapist, Annie Fitzpatrick; along with a host of life-making friends and family mourning her passing.
