Barbara Sue “Poo” Jessie Tackett
1944-2022
Barbara Sue “Poo” Jessie Tackett, 78, of Olive Hill, KY, entered into rest Tuesday morning, December 13, 2022 at her granddaughter’s home in Carter City. She was born April 15, 1944, at home in Carter County, KY; a daughter of the late Lonnie Jessie and Ruby Wilson Jessie.
Barbara was of the Christian faith and she retired from Olive Hill Finishing Company after 37 years. Her favorite enjoyment came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William H. “Bill” Tackett; two infant daughters, Pamela Lou, and Deidre Lynn; one grandson, Christopher Michael Adkins; one granddaughter, Kelli Leanne McCoy; and two brothers, George Jessie, and Donald Jessie.
Barbara is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Ann Adkins; one granddaughter, Kristi Jo Adkins (Joe Hall); one grandson-in-law, David McCoy; three great-grandchildren, Haylee RayAnn Hall (Gunner Johnson), Jayce Allen Hall, and Christopher Aaron McCoy; one great-great-granddaughter, Kinzley Jo; and four sisters-in-law, Wilma Jessie, Phyllis Osborne, Alma Jean Reid, and Doris Tackett. In addition to these, she leaves behind two very special friends, Lorinda Parker, and Deborah Harper; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will greatly miss her and cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM, Friday, December 16, 2022, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. J.C. Bond, and Bro. Terry Dean officiating. A private interment will follow at a later date.
Friends may visit from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, December 16, 2022, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt St., Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
