Wendell Dewayne Manning
1950-2019
Wendell Dewayne Manning, 68, of Olive Hill, KY entered into rest, Wednesday evening May 29, 2019 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. He was born July 15, 1950 in Carter County, KY, a son of the late Marlin and Minnie Johnson Manning.
Dewayne was a member of the United Railworkers Union and retired with 39 years of service from CSX Carshop in Russell, KY where he was employed as a carman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, four wheeling and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and grandkids.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Joyce Brown, Corrine Stewart and Ouida Gettins.
He is survived by his wife, Martha, who he wed December 13, 1974; two sons, Donnie Eugene Rose (Lorianne) and Chadwick Dewayne Manning (Christina); six grandchildren, Donald Bruce Rose, MaKayla Anne Rose, MaKenna Nicole Rose, Caleb Dewayne Manning, Christian Denton Manning and Caeden “KK” Daniel Manning; one great-grandchild, Jaxon Lane Rose; and one sister, Adele Allen of Knoxville, TN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Olive Hill Fire Department or Shriner’s Hospital.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Burial will follow in the Kiser Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Donnie Rose, Chadwick Manning, Donald Rose, Caleb Manning, Rick Kiser and Dale Kiser.
Honorary Pallbearers are Danny Caudill, Charles Roe, Dale Clark, Edwin Kiser, Spencer Kiser, and Larry Rose.
Friends may visit from 6-9 PM, Saturday, June 1, 2019 and after 9:00 AM, Sunday until the time of service, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street Olive Hill, KY
