In Loving Memory

Sonja Gay Blankenship Sammons, 51, of Olive Hill, Kentucky entered into rest Saturday afternoon, November 4, 2017 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. She was born July 11, 1966 in Columbia, KY a daughter of the late Cordell and Barbara King Blankenship.  Sonja was a Homemaker and had managed the Family Dollar in Olive Hill for many years. She enjoyed Motorcycles, Riding Horse’s, volunteering at the Senior Citizens Center and helping people.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, George and Edra King of Olive Hill, KY and paternal grandparents, Otha and Anna Rooney Blankenship of Russell Springs, KY.

She is survived by her Husband of 33 years Sam Sammons; one daughter, Santana Sammons of Olive Hill, KY; one sister, Patty Stephens of Russell Springs, KY and her Mother-in-Law, Barbara Sammons of Olive Hill, KY.  In addition to these she is survived by several relatives and friends that mourn her passing.

A Celebration of Sonja’s Life will be Conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 7, 2017 in the Chapel of the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164
