Rollie Blevins  

1928-2018

Rollie Blevins, 90, of Olive Hill, KY, formerly of Westwood, KY,            entered into rest Thursday, October 11, 2018.  He was born October 5, 1928, in Grahn, KY, a son of the late Watt and Martha Brown Blevins.

Mr. Blevins was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Ashland, KY and served as General Chairman of Carmen Union, Local #344. Rollie was a strong republican and enjoyed loafing at Brandon’s Auto Care, McDonald’s and Dairy Queen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Blevins in 1990; five sisters, Elizabeth Roark, Jackie Smith, Eula Oney, Inez Johnson and Norma Hamm; and four brothers, Chester Blevins, Elisha Blevins, Argus Blevins and Gerald Blevins.

Rollie is survived by his wife, Louise; one daughter, Toni (Larry) Newsome of Ashland, KY; two step-daughters, Cheri (P.R.) James and Jenny Bailey Fankell, both of Grahn, KY; three grandchildren, Nick (Denise) Newsome of Murray, KY, Jason (Rene’) Newsome of Louisville, KY and Larisa (Tony) Smith of Ashland, KY; four step-grandchildren, Jarrod (Kristin) James of Knoxville, TN, Devin (Kayla) Bailey of Olive Hill, Daniel (Ruby Jo) Bailey of Grahn, KY and Jenise (Jacob) Blanton of Morehead, KY; eight great-grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm, Sunday October 14, 2018 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home with Moderator Gary Blevins and Bro. Gary Sparks officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bowling Cemetery, Music Branch, Ashland, KY.

Friends may call after 5:00pm, Saturday, October 13, 2018 and 9:00am to 2:00pm, Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service, located at 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY.
