Phyllis always loved to have her family home for “big” holiday dinners. She loved having as many people as possible - in-laws of her children and others. Everyone loved her holiday menus, especially the grandchildren who couldn’t get enough of her famous sugar cookies! She loved having her children and grandchildren around her.
She could be quite stubborn at times, if she had her mind made up there was no changing it.
Phyllis never had a strong affection for dogs, but with a daughter, granddaughter, and son who loved dogs she always ended up with one or two.
Phyllis and Floyd enjoyed horse racing as a pastime hobby, especially the Kentucky Derby.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 66+ years William Floyd Richardson in May 2015. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Madeline Rogers Erwin; her father, Luther Erwin; two brothers, Homer Erwin in Ohio and Edward Erwin; and one sister, Emojean Burton; all, except Homer, were from Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 8th, 2019 at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 149 Whitt St., Olive Hill, Kentucky with Scott Cauley officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home and Cremation services in Olive Hill, Ky.
