Malcolm G. Carter
1941-2018
Malcolm G. Carter, 77, of Olive Hill, KY, entered into rest Monday, October 1, 2018. He was born March 2, 1941 in Grahn, KY, a son of the late Gussie Carter, Jr. and Blanche Tackett Carter.
Mr. Carter was of the Baptist faith, he served in the United States Army and worked for Ford Motor Company in Ypsilanti, MI for 10 years. After receiving his Master’s Degree and Rank 1 in education from Morehead State University, he was employed as teacher in Carter County for 27 years. Guiding and teaching many students during his time at Upper Tygart Elementary and as a Math and History teacher at West Carter Middle School.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Emerald Carter.
Malcom is survived by his wife, Karen; two daughters, Michael Jo Welsh (partner Dave Conklin) of Phoenix, AZ and Jennifer Carter (husband Ben Malphrus) of Morehead; one sister, Loretta Waugh of Bedford, KY; one brother, Rockie Carter of Pleasureville, KY; four grandchildren, Jordan (husband Chad) Ford, Taylor Welsh, Tesla Malphrus and Sagan Malphrus; one great-grandchild, Wesley Ford and one special nephew, Jake Kiser.
The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life from 4:30pm to 7:00pm on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home, located at 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY.
