Hiram “Junior” Sparks, age 80, of Coal Grove, OH, formerly of Olive Hill, KY, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus, OH.

Hiram was born on June 25, 1936 in Elliott Co., KY, to the late Eddie and Martha Hayward Sparks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two spouses, Dixie Stegall Sparks and Mottie Mulligan Sparks; one daughter, Phyllis Ann Sparks and one son, Michael Sparks.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Elwood Sparks, Gary Sparks and Larry (infant); one brother-in-law, Clayton Hanshaw and one nephew, William Clayton Hanshaw.

Mr. Sparks is survived by two daughters, Tammy Lynn Sparks and Rosa Linda Sparks; one son, Kevin Sparks; six sisters, Evelyn Hanshaw, Ida Pearl Boyd, Zelma Behnke, Thelma Offill, Alice Stewart and Joanna Mauk; and four brothers, James W. Sparks, Eddie Sparks, Roy Kenneth Sparks and Mark Layne Sparks.

Hiram was a member of the Christian Church and the American Legion in Cynthiana, KY.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Watson Cemetery in Olive Hill, KY. Arrangements are under the care of the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Olive Hill, KY.
