George Earmel Lowe

1934-2019

George Earmel Lowe, 85, of Olive Hill, KY was a Christian and went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 7, 2019 at his home. Born January 12, 1934 in Carter County, he was the son of the late Lewis and Mona Mauk Lowe.

George was a retired Crane Operator of Kentucky Electric Steel and a member of the United Steel Workers Union, Local #7054. He liked to farm and take care of his cows, along with talking about his cows anytime and anywhere.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Arlie Lowe (Marcella), Carmel Lowe (Betty), Lloyd Lowe (Jessie) and Elmer Lowe; one sister and brother-in-law, Velda Lowe Roe (Ernest); one brother-in-law, Henry Jacobs; and one son-in-law, Paul Thomas Lewis.

George is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pauline Maddix Lowe; one daughter, Wanda L. Lowe Lewis; his son, George Michael “Mike” Lowe (Vanessa), all of Olive Hill, KY; two grandsons, Christopher George Lowe (Keri) and Michael Jeremy Lowe, both of Olive Hill, KY; one granddaughter, Ashley Michelle Lewis Brown (Josh) of Morehead, KY; two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Grace Brown of Morehead, KY and Skyler LeGrand of Olive Hill, KY; one sister, Aline Lowe Jacobs of Olive Hill, KY; one sister-in-law, Idell Lowe of Lexington, KY; along with several nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by his family and many friends he has made in this life.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. Gary Sparks and Bro. Jimmy Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Olive Hill Memorial Park.

Friends may visit from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street Olive Hill, KY.

Serving as Pallbearers are Ryan Barker, Christopher Lowe, Jeremy Lowe, Tracey Elliott, Josh Brown, Chance Cecil and Roger Lowe.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Delmar Haney, Gary Caudill, Jon Walker, Clifford “Sod” Roe, Terry Lowe, Ralph Lowe and Samuel Burton.
