Burthel E. James
1930-2019
Burthel E. James, 89, of Olive Hill, KY, entered into rest, Saturday evening, October 12, 2019 at his residence. He was born June 23, 1930, in Olive Hill, a son to the late Lovell F. and Ruby Idora Erwin James.
Burthel was a retired machinist. He attended James Chapel Community Holiness Church. He was a devout reader, especially westerns. He loved to fish, read the newspaper and play Jeopardy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Katie Palm and Gladys Workman; two sisters, Mary Willis Duncan and infant Wilma Katheline James; and three brothers; Emerald James, Les James and Carl James.
He is survived by two daughters; Regenia Myers and Darlene James, three granddaughters; Deanna, Brandy and Brianna, four great-grandchildren; Shayna, Stacie, Katie and Emily, six great-great grandchildren; Gavin, Nevaeh, Braxton, Elizabeth, Dakota and Noah and one special friend, Mary Johnson. In addition to these, he is survived by many nieces and nephews who will greatly miss him.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bro. Darryl Garvin and Bro. Rex Seagraves officiating. Burial will follow in the James Cemetery in Olive Hill, KY.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 9:00 PM, Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY and 9:00 AM until time of service on Thursday.
