Bobby W. Sammons, 79, of Olive Hill, KY went home to be with the Lord on Thursday Morning September 8, 2016 at his residence. He was born January 10, 1937 in Carter County, KY a son of the late Dennis and Goldie Thompson Sammons. Bobby was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and a sweet friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed horseback riding, farming, going to church and spending time with family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith and a firm believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Opal L. Sammons; three step daughters, Nancy Greenhill, Barbara Lunsford and Katie Franks; one twin brother, Billy Sammons, five brothers, Mack Sammons, Lloyd Sammons, John Louie Sammons and twin brothers Orville and Irville; three sisters Maxine Carroll, Christine Sammons, Isebelle Sammons; three grandchildren, John Russell Fultz, Roger Allen and Brenda Veazie.

Bobby is survived by a daughter, Loretta Hicks Littleton and her Husband Billy and a son Paul Sammons and his wife Karen both of Olive Hill, KY; one step daughter Juanita Tomlin of Ohio; three step sons, Garv(Penny) Fultz , Larry (Carroll) Fultz and Perry (Rita) Fultz all of Ohio; one sister Avanell Perry of Olive Hill, KY and a sister-in-law Barbara Sammons of Olive Hill; 14 grandchildren, Leighann Phillips Dotson (Chris) of Morehead, KY, David Phillips and Jonathan Phillips both of Olive Hill, KY, Amanda Sammons Hall (Steven) of Ohio, Kevin Sammons of Ohio, Brittany Sammons (Arica) of Ohio, Brainna Sammons, Haley Sammons, Marissa Sammons, Eric Sammons, Emma Sammons, twin brothers Bobby and Billy Sammons, Dakota Sammons all of Olive Hill, KY; 26 step Grandchildren; 65 Great Grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren whom he loved and was very proud of.

In addition to these he is survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Sunday September 11, 2016 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY with Bro. Matt Blankenship Officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery on State Route 986 in Olive Hill, KY.

Friends may call 6-9 PM Friday September 9, 2016, anytime Saturday September 10, 2016 and after 9:00 AM Sunday at the Funeral Home.
