William Milford Boggs, age 77, of Olive Hill, KY, entered into rest Sunday evening August 30, 2015 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY. William was born April 18, 1938 in Carter County, Kentucky a son of the late Milford and Murriel Jones Boggs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by several family members including one niece Juanita Belle Boggs.
William was baptized April 7, 1957 at the First Baptist Church in Olive Hill, KY where he was a dedicated member for over 50 years, serving as a Deacon, member of the Church Choir, the Baptist Men’s Group, Sunday School Teacher and Royal Ambassador Leader, He also was a former Sunday School Superintendent. Apart from Church he was also a member of the National Rifle Association, a former Boys Counselor at the Hudgins Hill Baptist Camp, and served in the 201st Battalion “The Work Horse Battalion” of the Kentucky Army National Guard in Olive Hill, KY and was retired from the Olive Hill City Water Plant.
He is survived by four brothers, Charles Glendal Boggs and his wife Wilma, Martin Valentine Boggs, Jackie Lee Boggs and his wife Jearlean, George Allen Boggs and his wife Jean; and one sister Helen Jeanenne Boggs all of Olive Hill, KY; one aunt Emma DeHart; one nephew Heith (Nancy) Boggs ; four nieces Marla (David) Oney, Anita (Jamie) Wagner, Heather(John) Wilburn, Mary (Chad) Sparks; Several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to these William leaves behind several relatives and friends who sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday September 3, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Olive Hill, KY with Rev. David Logsdon and Pastor Gary Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park in Olive Hill, KY with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call 5:00-9:00 PM Wednesday September 2, 2015 and after 9:00 AM Thursday at the First Baptist Church, 365 E. Tom T. Hall Blvd, Olive Hill, KY 41164
