Victoria “Vicki” Lee Cartee age 58 of Olive Hill Kentucky passed away Wednesday January 28, 2015 at the Saint Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead Kentucky.

Ms. Cartee was born November 29, 1956 to Norma Swan Cartee and the late Ralph “Buster” Cartee of Olive Hill Kentucky.

Victoria graduated from the University Of Kentucky School Of Nursing with a Bachelor’s degree. She was employed for over 20 years at the Samaritan Hospital later UK Samaritan in Lexington Kentucky as an Emergency Room Registration Clerk, where she touched many lives and made friends with virtually everyone she came in contact with. In her personal time Ms. Cartee enjoyed working with the Carter County Shrine Club as the horse show registrar for many years. Ms. Cartee was also a member of the Order of the Olive Hill Eastern Star chapter 290, the Olive Hill Historical Society, the Carter County Cruisers Travelers Club, the Olive Hill Red Hat Society and most importantly a member of the United Methodist Church. Ms. Cartee thoroughly enjoyed traveling abroad and spending time with her family and many friends.

Besides her father, Ms. Cartee was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Ralph Sr. and Gwendolyn Cartee, and Robert Lawson Swan and Grace Murphy Swan. Also proceeding her in death was one uncle, Robert Lynn Swan, two aunts, Gayle G. Swan and Patty Cartee Carroll and cousins, Jerry Lawson Swan and Michael Collins.

Ms. Cartee is survived by her loving mother Norma Swan Cartee of Olive Hill, KY one sister, Rita Lynn Cartee of Olive Hill, KY, Two Godmothers, Sandra A. Collins and Sue DeHart and her Goddaughter Gina Wilburn Vanlandingham of Olive Hill, KY. Also surviving are three uncles, Bob G. Cartee of Olive Hill, KY, Jerry Lawson Swan (Pat) of Lilburn GA, and Richard Murphey Swan (Cheryl) of Evans, GA, and one aunt, Ann Swan Wren (Ray) of Evans, GA. Ms. Cartee is also survived by special friends Kim Waggoner Wilburn, Debra Brown, and Wilma Jean Barker along with a multitude of cousins, friends and relatives who will sadly miss her.

Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service 149 Whitt St. Olive Hill, KY with Bro. John Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in the JR. O.U.A.M. Cemetery in Olive Hill, KY.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Seth Brown, Wayne Russell, Andrew Bledsoe, Patrick Flannery, Thomas Flannery, Billy Rice, Jack Lowe, Stephen Collins, Jason Wren, Robert L. Swan Jr, William Bradley Swan, Ryan Collins and Danny Erwin Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Dehart, Phil David Phillips, Mike Flannery, Tim Wilburn, Bill Callihan, Roger Layne, Danny Lowe, Bill Waggoner, Steve Parker, Mike Parker, Randy Ruley, Scott Mitchell, Ronnie Fisher, Rocky Stephens, and Paul Webb.

Friends may call Friday January 30, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Eastern Star Service will be conducted 7:00 PM Friday evening by the Olive Hill Eastern Star # 290 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Olive Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund.
