Mark D. “Boxcar” Napier 52 of Olive Hill, KY passed away Friday October 9, 2015 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Mr. Napier was born November 16, 1962 in Louisville, KY to Nelline Ison Napier and the late Ishmael Napier.
In addition to his mother Mr. Napier is survived by his wife of 32 years Kimberly Tackett Napier, Five sons, Mark Tyler Napier, Travis Aaron Napier, Taylor Andrew Napier, Trey Austin Napier, and Markus Tyler Napier, One daughter, Alissa Napier and one grandchild Emily Napier all of Olive Hill. Also surviving are two sisters, Renita Gayle Whitt and Deborah McDermott both of Argilite, KY.
Mark was a retired rail road engineer with the CSX Railroad and worked at the Russell, KY yard. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many sports activities, and was a supporter and member of the YMCA, Little League, was a founder of the West Carter Middle School Baseball team and also founded the Upper Tygart-Lawton Football team and coached basketball as well. Mark was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Mr. Napier was preceded in death by his father Ishmael Napier.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday October 13, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service 149 Whitt St. Olive Hill, KY. Burial will follow in the Clark Cemetery in Solider, KY.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Tyler Napier, Travis Aaron Napier, Taylor Andrew Napier, Jon Zachary Whitt, John Kristian Whitt, and Scott Tackett.
Friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Monday October 12, 2015 and after 8:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
