Joseph Edward “Joe Ed” Porter, 66, of Morehead, KY, formerly of Olive Hill, KY, gained his angel wings Friday Evening October 23, 2015 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY.

Joe Ed was born December 2, 1948 at Leatherwood in Carter County, KY a son of the late Earcel and Emma Cross  Porter.He was of the Christian faith. Joe Ed enjoyed nothing more than pulling a joke on his family and friends. His sneaky little laugh will never be forgotten.

Joe was proceeded in death by his parents Earcel and Emma, brothers Eugene “Gene” Porter and Virgil Porter and one sister Jolene Porter. He is survived by two sons, Dwayne Eddie and Bobby Joe Porter of Laurelville, Ohio. Two daughters Margerette Denton of Gonzales,Louisana and Tressa (Gary) Garrett of Laurelville, Ohio . Two step-sons, Ryan (Jane) Williams and Rondall Williams of Morehead, Kentucky and one step-daughter Rana Williams of North Carolina. Joe Ed is also survived by his sisters Geraldine “Sis” (Lonnie) Plank, Lorene Johnson,  and one brother Earcel “June” (Aileen) Porter of Muncie Indiana. Six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren, special little buddies great-nephew Landon Carl Hale, great-neices Aleah Masincupp and  Emily Parker also survive.

Service will be conducted Monday October 26, 2015at 2:00 P.M. at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home 149 Whitt St. Olive Hill, KY with Brother Rex Seagraves officiating. Burial will follow in the Holbrook-Porter Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday October 25, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pall Bearers will be Josh Edward Porter, Jeff Porter, Lonnie Plank, Randall Williams, Ryan Williams, Nicholas Stevens, and Scottie Stevens.

Honorary Pall Bearers will be all of Joe Ed’s many friends.
